I'm not sure I think any of these are technically good but I think it was a good exercise to remember how to make gifs, and think about moving images as I will have to do some more image moving later on in the project. Since the idea was fresh in my mind and I was motivated, I thought it was best to get this fun little test done now! Looking forward to doing some more sophisticated gif-work.
1 - I thought making the skeleton like a sudden flash would be spooky, but I couldn't find a middle-ground of being able to see what is is and it also being a fast enough flash. I feel like there should have been more of a horrific transformation in this flash too.
2. Similar to the first but with an added texture because the solid black/white is pretty harsh. This also adds more of a spooky atmosphere. The texture becomes more prominent gradually but the skeleton is still a quick flash - I don't think this is very well synced... uncomfortable to look at.
3. Added more of a transition between human and skeleton so it's a gradual fade in and out rather than a flash, this is pretty cool.
4. Just for fun I made the textures move to give a creepy - old video type aura to the gif. This one is my favourite as I feel the elements compliment each other best here. - Very spooky looking, but as I said none of these are the best thing I've ever made because it was just a quick test on a whim.
