Extended Practice Prep: Idea 2 - Dragula continuation

I really enjoyed doing the sketchbook on classic horror movies at level 4, and I hink that this 'Dragula' poster is still one of my personal favourite things I've made - and I think I could expand upon it further now. My idea for this is a series of posters combining classic horror and some kind of show such as drag, burlesque, pantomime (maybe limiting it to just drag, I'm not sure at the moment). This will involve researching film posters, show posters, the films themselves, elements of shows. I think this project would be a fun combo of two things I love - spooky things and campy showy fun!

A lot of the ideas I've had for projects have centered around spooky stuff and on one hand I don't want to limit myself but on the other hand it's what I enjoy creating and I know I will stay interested in the project.

Extended Practice Prep: Idea 1 - Commemorative Buffy The Vampire Slayer Stuff

2017 will be 20 years since Buffy came out in 1997. As an avid Buffy fan I think it would be a fun and engaging project to create designs for perhaps a commemorative DVD box set. Which could include a design for a box and covers for the 7 seasons of the show. There is also potential for 'limited edition' commemorative posters that would be included with the set - if it were a purchasable good. BTVS is something I am maybe slightly too into and I think I would be able to stay really focused on this project and want to make it the absolute best it can be. A majority of designs on BTVS dvd's are distinctly 90's / early 2000's in design and don't seem to have been updated at all since they were first released. I would like to re-VAMP (haha) the covers, bringing them into something more modern and sleek but still holding iconic Buffy elements.

In the summer I have just done some bits of fan art, like this pattern based on the character Spike, which helped to spark the idea for this potential project.
