They liked how the swirl I added in all the pieces was sometimes used as part of the narrative. I had worried that they looked a little forced in some of the images but they said it was subtle as they didn't notice it was in all of the images right away. Some of the images were more obvious than others, the 'Once more with feeling' piece was mistaken for something scary - understandably, so clarity of the image may have been something to work on. The girls were impressed with the experimentation in my sketchbook, especially where I messed up one piece which allowed me to find a more suitable way of portraying the subject in question (something you discovered)
Note from myself: I used gouache for all the pieces but I wish now that I had considered other media.
